The allegations come from a total of eight women in interviews published in New York Magazine and in Tortoise Media's podcast "Master".

In a post on the platform Tumblr, Gaiman now writes that he has reacted to the women's stories with "horror and dismay".

"There are events that I recognize halfway and others that I do not recognize, descriptions of things that happened side by side with things that absolutely did not happen. I am far from perfect, but I have never had sex without consent with anyone. Never", writes Gaiman.

Gaiman's representatives have also denied the allegations and claimed that everything happened with consent. They also say that "sexual humiliation, bondage, dominance, sadism, and masochism may not appeal to everyone, but between consenting adults, BDSM is legal."
