Jonna Sundling and Calle Halfvarsson are also back in the Swedish team after opting out of competitions.
"We're getting most of the skiers who missed the Tour de Ski or who have been sick. Frida Karlsson is making her comeback in the World Cup after a few weekends without competing. The same applies to Jonna Sundling, Emma Ribom, and Calle Halfvarsson. Calle is back after his back problems. He wanted to compete in Falun last weekend, but we chose to give his rehabilitation another week, so now Calle is ready for the World Cup again," says national team coach Anders Byström in a press release.
10 kilometers in freestyle, a classic sprint, and 20 kilometers mass start will be decided in the French town.
"Les Rousses had World Cup competitions for the first time two years ago, and it was a wonderful experience in terms of audience, atmosphere, and courses. Now, they have developed the concept further, and despite warm temperatures, they promise good conditions for both sprint and distance," says Anders Byström.
Elina Rönnlund is also back in the national team after repeated injury problems.
"She has shown in several freestyle races that she is of high class. Really fun to give her the chance now," says Byström.
Marcus Grate is suffering from a sore throat and will not start in Les Rousses.
Nor will the fresh Tour de Ski winners Johannes Høsflot Klæbo and Therese Johaug. On the other hand, sprint specialist Kristine Stavås Skistad, who made an unsuccessful comeback in December after a stomach operation, is back in the Norwegian team after not having competed in the World Cup since then.
