The French rugby star Melvyn Jaminet is sent home from a national team gathering in Argentina, after he acted racist in a video.

It was on Saturday, after a match between France and Argentina, that Jaminet uploaded a video on social media where he said he would "bash the next Arab I see".

He quickly deleted the video, but it still managed to spread – and now it has consequences.

"The French Rugby Federation strongly condemns Jaminet's word choice in the video that has spread on social media. It is completely unacceptable and goes against our sport's fundamental values," the federation writes in a statement.

Jaminet apologizes in a message on Instagram.

"I am incredibly sorry and ashamed of my words. I want to apologize to everyone. I understand that I have hurt and offended many people. Racism is unacceptable and goes against everything I believe in," he writes.
