Ford is withdrawing its plans for a new factory for the production of an electric SUV. The decision, which can cost the car concern around 1.9 billion dollars, equivalent to 20 billion kronor, is connected to a new strategy where Ford is reducing investment costs for new electric cars.

At the same time, the car giant is announcing that it is reviewing its battery plans to better compete with Chinese electric car manufacturers.

The background is, among other things, that the sales of electric cars have lost momentum.
