The Finnish parliament house in Helsinki has been vandalized by Swedish activists from the organization Restore Wetlands, reports Swedish Yle.
Together with its Finnish counterpart, the network Elokapina, the activists sprayed red paint on the parliament house during a demonstration against peat extraction. Eight of the pillars on the front of the house have been vandalized.
The demonstrators were removed from the site by the police on Wednesday morning since the demonstration was unauthorized.
The police are investigating the incident as aggravated vandalism and ten people have been arrested.
