A visitor fell around 200 meters from the world-famous cliff Preikestolen in Norway. The police confirm that it is not possible to survive such a fall, and report that the body has been found.

"With the help of rescue helicopters, a person has been found around 200 meters down from the plateau" writes the police, and explains that such a long fall is impossible to survive.

It was other visitors who called in the morning to report that someone had slipped off the cliff near Stavanger in southwestern Norway. The weather in the area has been quite wet, and is reported to be slippery on the spot.

But the helicopter personnel could only confirm that the accident ended in death.

The cliff formation Preikestolen attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. After the accident, the site is temporarily closed for the retrieval of the body, reports Norwegian media.
