The meteorite, NWA 16788, is the largest from Mars that has ever been found on Earth.

According to the auction house Sotheby's in New York, the meteorite is believed to have been blown off the surface of Mars after an asteroid impact and then traveled 225 million kilometers to Earth, to crash in the Sahara Desert. It was found by a meteorite hunter in Niger in November 2023, according to Sotheby's.

The stone is expected to be sold for between two and four million dollars, equivalent to 19 to 38 million Swedish kronor.

At the same time, a two-meter high and three-meter long dinosaur skeleton will also be auctioned off.
