In a statement, the FBI is urging the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity. At the same time, the FBI confirms that it is investigating "possible bomb threats in southern Texas in recent weeks".

One of the threats is said to have occurred on Christmas Eve, and a few days later, another threat was received. On December 27, a threat was reported via a phone call to Space X, according to local authorities.

The caller is said to have stated that "a bomb was placed on a rocket, and then announced that it was on a spacecraft", writes Express News.

Space X conducts spaceflights on behalf of NASA, and is owned by, among others, tech billionaire Elon Musk. The next test launch from Starbase in Texas is scheduled to take place next week, on January 10.
