We have had conversations with the person during the day and the person is now taken into custody by social authorities. That is the information we are providing right now in the cases, says the police's press spokesperson, Christian Brattgård, to TT.
It was just before 6:30 am when a loud bang was heard in the residential area in Angered in northeastern Gothenburg.
It's clear that you get scared when something like this happens, said a person who lives nearby after the incident.
He woke up to the bang, which he describes as a loud rumble that continued to reverberate for a long time afterwards.
On site, the police could establish that it was a hand grenade that had exploded. However, no one was physically injured.
During the night, an explosion also occurred in Partille outside Gothenburg, when something believed to be a hand grenade was thrown into a stairwell in an apartment building. No one was injured and, according to the police, only minor material damage occurred.
The two incidents are classified as gross reckless endangerment. The work will now continue over the weekend.
In these cases, we are working broadly and looking at all possibilities, says Christian Brattgård.
