Jeremiah Azu misses the athletics EM in Rome. The sprinters competing in the 100-meter event are injured and will therefore not start. This was announced by the British athletics federation.
Azu is Europe's fastest man this year and the only one who has run under 10 seconds (9.97). At the EM in Munich 2022, Azu took bronze in the 100-meter event.
For Swedish Henrik Larsson, the injury means that the competition is reduced.
The athletics EM in Rome starts on Friday.
