The EU Commission has approved Swedish support for H2 Green Steel for the steel company's construction of a large-scale green steel plant in Boden.
The support amounts to 265 million euros, equivalent to nearly three billion kronor. It will be partially financed by the EU's regional support fund and the post-coronavirus pandemic support fund, RRF, writes the EU Commission in a press release.
The steel plant is expected to be operational in 2026 and is expected to produce 2.4 million fossil-free steel per year.
