The agreement involves, in addition to salary increases and reduced working hours, also a new model for further reduction of working hours, according to Elektrikerna.

The new agreement involves a total contractual value of 6.4 percent over two years – 2.9 percent the first year and 3 percent the second year, as well as 0.5 percent set aside for further reduction of working hours.

In previous agreements, there have been 29 hours per year in reduced working hours. In the new agreement, nine hours are added, while introducing a new model to enable an additional 18 hours in local collective agreements.

"It is unique for the Swedish labor market and responds to our members' desire to shorten working hours", says Petter Johansson, agreement manager at Elektrikerna, in the press release.
