Joe Rogan, with over 14 million followers on Spotify, has long had one of the largest podcasts in the USA. On Friday, he will be visited for the first time by Donald Trump, according to several American media outlets, citing campaign representatives.
Trump, who has recently appeared in several other podcasts primarily targeting young men, is thus continuing to focus on male voters.
The relationship with Rogan has not been uncomplicated. As recently as August, Trump mocked the podcaster after he expressed his support for Robert F Kennedy Jr, who has since withdrawn from the presidential campaign and backed Trump.
Rogan has in turn criticized Trump, including by calling him an "existential threat to democracy" in July 2022. However, he has recently been more benevolently inclined towards the Republican, according to Politico.
The Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who has also made appearances in large podcasts recently, is said to have held discussions about participating in Rogan's podcast. It remains to be seen how that will turn out.
