Djurgården lost the home derby against Hammarby with a score of 0-3. Now comes the next cold shower: right-back Piotr Johansson will miss the rest of the season with a severe knee injury.
Johansson, 29, was forced to make a substitution with a quarter of the game played after a collision with the knee. Now, Djurgården confirms that it's a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament that requires surgery.
"As a result, Piotr will be out for the rest of this season with an estimated rehabilitation time of 9-12 months," says the club's naprapath Kalle Barrling in a comment on Djurgården's website.
Piotr Johansson joined Djurgården from Kalmar ahead of the 2022 season and has been a regular at right-back since then.
