”Digital voting cards mean an increased accessibility of the personal voting rights information for voters, who will be able to log in to their digital mailbox and access the voting card regardless of where they are”, says the Election Authority's secretary general Anna Nyqvist in a press release.
According to the Election Authority, new technology will also be used in advance voting, to record that voters have voted and distribute advance votes.
The actual voting will continue to take place on paper. Voters who lack a digital mailbox, or do not receive authority information to it, will, just like before, receive their voting card in the physical mailbox.
