Hot steam billows 20 metres above central Oslo after major water leak

Pictures and video from the scene show hot steam billowing from the ground. According to Verdens Gang, the steam cloud rises 20 metres into the air.

“It is probably a leak from a pipe in a district heating plant, but the cause has not been fully determined,” Eirik Fredriksen of Oslo’s emergency services told VG.

Police are urging people in the area to close their windows and stay away.
