The Swedish households continue to hold on to their wallets. In December, household consumption decreased by 0.3 percent compared to the previous month in seasonally adjusted figures, according to new figures from Statistics Sweden (SCB).
Among the industries that were most negatively affected are "transportation and retail trade with service of motor vehicles" which decreased by 4.9 percent compared to November.
For the fourth quarter of 2024, however, consumption increased by 0.7 percent compared to the same quarter the previous year.
