193 people have been confirmed dead in floods and landslides that followed the heavy monsoon rains in Nepal over the weekend.
31 people are still missing and 96 have been reported injured, according to a statement from the police.
Many of the deaths have occurred in the capital city of Kathmandu. At least three buses have been buried in a landslide on the highway about one and a half miles from the city, which has been isolated all weekend since several roads out of the city have been blocked by landslides. Due to the stop, many people were sleeping in the buses and other vehicles when the landslide came.
The police and military are contributing to the rescue efforts, which have been able to intensify since the weather has improved on Sunday and Monday.
