The Norwegian cycling star Søren Wærenskjold has been on the road for a long time. Now the 24-year-old hopes to be able to go home – right in the middle of the Olympics.
I've been home maybe four days since May 1. I'll probably go home for a couple of days, so I don't have to stay here all the time, he says to NTB.
Olympic debutant Wærenskjold competes in the time trial on Saturday, and again a week later when the road race is decided on August 3.
It's still not entirely certain that the Norwegian can actually go home between the competitions, says sports manager Hans Falk.
We'll sort it out together. We haven't come to any conclusion, and we'll take it after the time trial, he says.
