A 23-year-old man was shot to death when he was out walking a dog in Växjö last October.
A 21-year-old man, who has been identified as the leader of a criminal network in the city, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the district court for the murder, which has been described as "a pure execution". A total of six shots were fired, primarily at the 23-year-old's head.
The 21-year-old appealed the verdict and had requested that the court of appeal acquit him or impose a fixed-term prison sentence.
However, the Göta Court of Appeal follows the district court's line and sentences the man to life imprisonment.
