Peter Luthersson terminates his assignment as a member of the committee A Cultural Canon for Sweden at his own request.
Literary scholar and author Luthersson was appointed last year by Minister of Culture Parisa Liljestrand as a member of the committee. He has now requested to be released from the assignment prematurely due to private reasons.
According to a press release from the Government Offices, Luthersson's decision has nothing to do with the committee's assignment, its members, or its work.
The committee began its work on March 1, 2024, and the assignment is to be reported by August 31, 2025. The other members of the committee are historian Lars Trägårdh, journalist Gunilla Kindstrand, and publisher PJ Anders Linder.
