Strömberg led Gais to the Allsvenskan qualifying round in 1995, but the club failed to win the double match against Norrköping.
A few years later, he was successful with Elfsborg, which he led to a fifth place in the Allsvenskan in 2000. The following year, he won the Swedish Cup with the club. It was Elfsborg's first title in 40 years.
Strömberg was then briefly the head coach of IFK Norrköping in 2002. He later changed careers and worked as a truck driver, according to Göteborgs-Posten.
Elfsborg's club manager Stefan Andreasson was the playing sports manager during Strömberg's time at the club.
I was taken aback when I heard the news. B-A was a kind, humble, and nice person with a quick laugh.
We have a lot to thank him for. He did fantastically well with us. I'm taken aback now, but I choose to remember the good, that he led us to our first title in 40 years, says Andreasson to GP.
