Västervik is the series winner in this year's basic series in the Swedish speedway league. Smålänningarna won over Indianerna with 50–40 on Tuesday evening and thus passed Smederna, who lost 34–56 to Rospiggarna.
The Lions, reigning Swedish champions, are third in the table.
The playoffs begin in a week. Västervik, as the basic series winner, gets to choose an opponent among teams four to six in the table. In turn, Rospiggarna, Dackarna or Indianerna. Then Smederna gets to choose and then The Lions get to meet the team that is left.
