The ruling Communist Party in China has adopted a resolution on deepened reforms and supporting policies that build up national security and the country's technical strength. This was announced in connection with the conclusion of the Communist Party's national congress, the so-called third plenum, on Thursday.
State media have recently reported that investments in technology will be prioritized, and companies will upgrade equipment and knowledge in line with President Xi Jinping's call for "high-quality development".
At the same time, it was announced that the country's former foreign minister Qin Gang will formally be removed from his position in the Communist Party's central committee. Former defense minister Li Shangfu will also lose his position in the committee.
The two lost their ministerial jobs already last year.
