The CEO of an LSS accommodation in Enköping is being prosecuted for work environment offense through negligence leading to another person's death, after an employee was murdered by a man at the accommodation in November 2022.
"As the CEO of the company, the accused has been responsible for the murdered woman's work environment. The investigation has shown that there are deficiencies in the company's systematic work environment work," says prosecutor Jennie Nordin in a comment.
According to the prosecutor, a sufficiently thorough risk assessment was not conducted at the accommodation, and therefore the necessary measures were not taken to ensure that the man could not exercise violence against staff.
"A risk assessment would, among other things, have led to single-handed work not being allowed and knives not being accessible," says Nordin.
The CEO denies the crime, according to the indictment.
The prosecutor is also demanding that the company pay a corporate fine of 2 million kronor.
The man who murdered the woman was sentenced to forensic psychiatric care last year.
