Coralie Fargeat's "The Substance", which received the award for best screenplay during the film festival in Cannes earlier this year, will have its Swedish premiere at Way Out West, according to a press release from the festival.
Furthermore, artist El Perro Del Mar's directorial debut "Big Anonymous" will have its world premiere during the festival. There will also be Emma Buch's "Nova & Alice" as well as the documentary film "Pontus Hultén – the successes and the Brillouin scandal".
A new feature this year at Way Out West is the film scene Cinema Slottsskogen, which is presented in collaboration with Film i Väst. The festival will also show midnight movies, in the form of the Swedish horror films "Real Horror" and "Virgo".
Over 30 feature films and ten short films will be shown during the festival, which takes place in Slottsskogen in Gothenburg on August 8-10.
