The death toll in Lebanon after Tuesday's Israeli attacks was revised upwards in the evening. Around 30 people were killed in raids on targets, including east of the capital Beirut, according to the Lebanese health department.
In the Chouf region south of Beirut, at least 12 people were killed.
One of the attacks was directed at a residential building east of Beirut, where at least eight people were confirmed to have been killed. Authorities in Lebanon said the house housed internally displaced persons, and there were children in the house.
Other Israeli attacks were carried out against, among other things, Tefahta near the border with Israel. At least five people were killed there.
Beirut was also attacked:
"Israeli fighter jets launched a very violent tenth attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut", reported the state-controlled news agency NNA on Tuesday.
The attack came shortly after the Israeli military had urged residents in four neighborhoods in southern Beirut to leave the area, as Hezbollah targets would be attacked.
The Iran-backed Hezbollah movement, in turn, fired several rockets at targets in Israel, including a military base outside Tel Aviv. Several of the rockets fell in uninhabited areas or were shot down by Israeli air defense.
However, one rocket hit a warehouse in the town of Nahariya in northern Israel and killed two people, according to Israeli medical personnel.
The Hezbollah attacks triggered air raid sirens over large parts of Israel and affected operations at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.
