A statue of Anne Frank, known for her diary from her hiding place from the Nazis, has been sprayed with pro-Palestinian graffiti. In addition to "Free Gaza", the statue's hands have been painted blood-red.
The statue, which stands in Amsterdam, is said to have been vandalized during the night leading up to Sunday, according to the police. No one has been arrested for the vandalism.
This is the second time in a month that the Anne Frank statue has been sprayed with pro-Palestinian messages. After the first incident on July 9, demands were made for video surveillance cameras and night lighting.
The bronze sculpture was created by artist Jet Schepp and depicts Anne Frank on her way to her hiding place.
Anne Frank died in a concentration camp in 1945, 15 years old.
Corrected version: In an earlier version, Anne Frank's age was incorrectly stated.
