The American singer Ann Wilson from the rock band Heart is to undergo cancer treatment, she announces.
"I recently had an operation to remove something that turned out to be cancer. The operation was successful and I'm feeling well, but the doctors want me to undergo preventive chemotherapy and I've chosen to do so", she writes on X.
The band is cancelling the remaining dates on their current tour, but aims to be back next year.
"This is just a pause. I have much more to sing", writes Wilson.
Heart was formed in 1973 with Ann Wilson and her younger, guitar-playing sister Nancy as front figures. Among their hits are "Barracuda" and "Crazy on you".
