Ever since Janne Andersson, last November, stopped being the Swedish national team captain, the question has been: What will be the next football assignment for the 61-year-old?

Lately, there have been strong signals that he will take over Nigeria's national team. A job that became vacant since Finidi George quit.

Now, Janne Andersson has confirmed to Expressen that he has ongoing negotiations with Nigeria's football association:

It's a huge football nation, so I'm extremely flattered to be part of the discussion about being their next national team captain. The dialogue is ongoing, and more than that, I don't really want to say.

But the negotiations will take a pause. Because on Friday, Janne Andersson set out to sea on a three-week sailing trip. He is, after all, one of the participants in Kanal 5's program "Across the Atlantic".

The others in the crew are Emma Molin, Johan Petersson, Filip Lamprecht, Alexander Karim, and Magdalena Forsberg.
