Several police patrols were alerted to the Vetterstorp district in Västerås on Sunday night after several people heard bangs, the police write on their website.
A preliminary investigation into attempted murder and serious weapons offences has been initiated.
A location was cordoned off for a technical investigation, but there is currently no information about anyone being injured.
