A passerby found the man outdoors on the street and alerted 112 at 22:30. The alarm came in as a suspected heart stoppage, but the police soon suspected that he had been subjected to a violent crime.

So far, we have been able to secure some evidence that suggests the man was shot, we have found shells at the scene, among other things, says police spokesperson Fredrik Svedemyr on Saturday morning.

There have also been reports of bangs to the police.

The man was taken to the hospital where he was later confirmed dead. The hospital was also able to confirm that the man was shot.

The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into murder. The area was cordoned off and the police have worked on gathering information, including door-to-door inquiries and using dogs at the scene.

We will continue with the investigative work during the day, says Fredrik Svedemyr.
