This is the meaning of an agreement that the government and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR) have entered into regarding supply preparedness.
The agreement should be seen against the backdrop of the pandemic, when the lack of face masks, visors, and other equipment became a very tangible and serious problem. But it is also about Sweden's civil preparedness in the event of war. Therefore, a stockpile of necessary products will be built up.
"The lack of access to critical healthcare products is a serious threat to people's lives and health. To improve crisis preparedness, we must strengthen the robustness of healthcare in everyday life," comments Health Minister Acko Ankarberg Johansson (KD) in a press release.
The regions will also draw up action plans for how they will achieve the goal of having at least one month's inventory near hospitals and healthcare facilities.
