Christiania is investing 85 million Danish kronor to change the street scene on Pusher Street. This is stated in the budget of the transformation plan, which is backed by the Christiania Foundation, the City of Copenhagen, and the Danish state.
The money will be used for playgrounds and new gardens, and it has previously been stated that the area will be transformed into "a gathering place for creative expressions".
The parties will cover approximately half of the budget, while the rest will be financed through external funds.
Pusher Street has for years been most notorious for its cannabis trade, but on April 6, the infamous hash alley was dug up to put a definitive stop to the drug trade.
The drop that made the cup overflow was a shooting in August 2023, where one person was killed and four others were shot and injured.
