The Norwegian central bank, Norges Bank, has published the list of applicants for the position of manager of the Norwegian oil fund, reports Norwegian Dagens Näringsliv.
The list of applicants includes, among others, the current manager Nicolai Tangen, who has held the position for five years. Other well-known applicants include Frode Pleym, who is the head of Greenpeace in Norway, and the Norwegian comedian Markus Vangen.
The only woman to apply for the job is Barbara Bourguet from Hole, who, according to the central bank's list, is 38 years old and currently works as an operations process manager.
The Norwegian oil fund manages a total of 19,742 billion Norwegian kronor. In 2024, the fund achieved a return of 13 percent on its investments, equivalent to 2,511 billion Norwegian kronor.
