The extensive fire in an apartment building started in an apartment and spread via a balcony to the attic.

No one is believed to have been injured in the fire, which was deemed extinguished by Thursday morning.

We are shocked and appalled by the course of events. But the rescue services made a fantastic effort with many resources on site to minimize the damage, says Robert Jademyr of Familjebostäder, which rents out apartments in the building.

For the evacuated tenants, various solutions have been used in the acute phase. However, it is not clear when the tenants will be able to return to their homes.

What happens in the meantime is primarily a question for the respective insurance companies through home insurance.

The insurance companies will arrange accommodation for the tenants. Then we care about our tenants and we have the muscle to work on a solution together, says Robert Jademyr.

On Thursday, the extent of the damage will be assessed. But for some, it may take time before the apartment is habitable again.

That's how it will be based on the information we received yesterday. But we'll know for sure only when we get access to the house, says Robert Jademyr.
