29 Dead After Mexico City Tanker Truck Explosion

Further four people have died after a tanker truck exploded in Mexico City for nearly two weeks ago. A total of 29 people have been confirmed dead.

In the tanker truck there were nearly 50,000 liters of fuel when it overturned and exploded in the district Iztapalapa on September 10.

29 people have died, 16 people are still being treated in hospital and 39 have been discharged, according to the latest official figures.

According to the local prosecutor's office, the accident may have been caused by speeding. Mayor Clara Brugada has announced that traffic with tanker trucks will be regulated in the capital to avoid further tragedies.
