US Carries Out Secret Strikes on Iranian Targets Near the Strait of Hormuz, Reports Say

The United States has carried out attacks on Iranian targets, US officials told several media outlets.

According to the AP news agency, an anonymous official said the attacks were “defensive” and targeted several sites around the Strait of Hormuz that had been used to attack American interests.

According to information obtained by The Wall Street Journal, Qeshm Island has been attacked. The newspaper also reports that the attacks are the latest in a series carried out secretly in recent weeks.

The US Department of War has not commented on the reports, which come after both the US and Iran expressed renewed hope that a peace agreement may be in the works.

Iran said on Monday that “intensive” talks with the US are underway to reach a settlement in the war. Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, the country’s supreme leader, has given the government a mandate to negotiate.

US Vice President JD Vance has said that he and President Donald Trump feel “hopeful” about a deal with Iran.
