Maximilian Ibrahimovic plays for Milan's P19 team on a daily basis, and there he has had a successful autumn. Four goals in six matches have made him selected for the national team as well.
And on Tuesday, he put on the "Blågult" training kit for the first time, ahead of the P18 national team's training matches against Japan and the USA in Spain.
I understand that he's creating attention. He's done well in Milan, scored goals in the Primavera team, and is a skilled player at getting into the penalty area, what we call the "goal zone". I think he shows that here too, says P18 national team coach Andreas Pettersson to Aftonbladet.
And as early as Wednesday, the 18-year-old may make his debut for the national team against Japan.
We'll see. We have three matches. Everyone will start one of the first two matches. He'll get playing time here soon anyway, continues Pettersson,
To be named Ibrahimovic and play football also brings a certain amount of attention.
We just want him to feel as secure as possible. I think he'll be that too. He's not entirely unaccustomed to this focus.
