Former One Direction member Zayn Malik is postponing his planned solo tour following the death of his friend and band colleague Liam Payne, Malik announces on Instagram.
"Due to the difficult loss I have suffered this week, I have decided to postpone the US part of my 'Stairway to the sky' tour", he writes.
The tour was supposed to start this week, but is now being postponed until January. It is Zayn Malik's first as a solo artist.
One Direction was formed in the British talent show "X-factor" in 2010. In 2016, the band took a break and has not played together since then.
Liam Payne passed away on Wednesday evening Swedish time after a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. He was 31 years old.
