The man is being prosecuted at Attunda District Court for gross financing of terrorism, gross participation in a terrorist organization, and three cases of traveling for terrorism between 2022 and 2024, announces the Prosecution Authority.

According to the indictment, he is alleged to have collected tens of thousands of kronor in cryptocurrencies intended for the terrorist group Islamic State.

The man was arrested in June last year at Arlanda Airport, about to begin a journey to Somalia, where he allegedly intended to join IS. The indictment reveals that he had made two previous trips to the East African country for the same purpose.

"We are now leaving behind a thorough investigative work from the Security Police's side and look forward to the court's review of the indictment," says Chief Prosecutor Per Lindqvist at the National Security Unit in a press release.
