A woman in her 70s has died from her injuries after colliding with a police car in Örebro, according to the police.

The police were on their way to an emergency when the collision occurred. The woman was driving a passenger car and collided with the police car at an intersection in central Örebro at around 3 pm on Sunday.

It is not clear who drove into whom, but we have made a thorough documentation of the accident site from the air, says the police's press spokesperson Lars Hedelin.

Then we'll look into whether there are surveillance cameras in the area that may have captured the accident on film.

At 6 pm, the police announced that the woman had died from her injuries.

One of the police officers was taken to hospital after participating in the rescue effort.

The police officer is not believed to have any physical injuries, but of course what happened is very distressing, says Lars Hedelin.

An investigation into traffic offenses will be initiated.

The case is classified as causing another person's death.
