A wolf was shot by mistake in Värmland last week. The hunter believed he was aiming at a fox and the incident is now being investigated by the police, according to Sveriges Radio P4 Värmland.
The incident occurred during a training hunt arranged by the Swedish Hunters Association during the buck hunting season, which began on August 16.
Fundamentally, it is serious to shoot an animal that you have misidentified. Fundamentally, you should of course be able to tell the difference between a fox and a wolf, says Anders Olsson, the Swedish Hunters Association's chairman in Värmland, to P4 Värmland.
