This year's wolf hunt is now over in three of the five current territories, reports Swedish Hunting. On Wednesday, 22 of the 30 wolves that are allowed to be shot in this year's licensed hunt had been felled.
At the same time, the Hunters' Association is demanding that the state take clearer responsibility for the hunting decision, reports the newspaper.
"It is the state that decides on hunting of predators. Then the state must also stand up for the decisions and explain why the hunt is needed. This is not something that hunters should have to do", says Chairman Peter Eriksson on the Hunters' Association website.
The hunt started on January 2 and can last until February 15 at the latest.
