Witnesses to the violent plane crash in South Korea report that they heard explosions and saw flames from the plane's engine before the crash, according to Yonhap.

Yoo Jae-Yong, who rented a house near the airport, saw sparks from the right wing before the crash.

I told my family that there was a problem with the plane when I heard a loud explosion, he says to the news agency.

The accident occurred when the plane was about to land at Muan Airport, where it ran off the runway and crashed into a wall, catching fire.

Just before, one of the passengers wrote to a relative waiting at the airport that the plane could not land because "a bird got stuck in the wing", reports the newspaper Hankook Ilbo. Then came another message asking "Should I write a will?", after which there was silence.

Kim Yong-Cheol saw how the plane failed to land on its first attempt, and that he heard a "metal scraping" sound twice, five minutes before the crash.

Another witness who was walking a few kilometers from the airport says that he saw "a flash of light" when the plane was about to land.

Then I heard a loud bang followed by smoke in the air, then I heard a series of explosions, says the man.
