This year's Roskilde Festival was the wettest in 17 years, according to new figures from Denmark's Meteorological Institute, DMI.
In total, 65.8 millimeters of rain fell during the festival week. It was worst on Sunday, June 30, when the precipitation was measured at 35.2 millimeters. In 2007, a total of 85.4 millimeters of rain fell during the festival week.
During the festival's final weekend, many visitors chose to leave early due to strong gusts of wind, rain, and the risk of storms. For a brief period on Saturday evening, the Apollo stage had to be closed and Eartheater's concert had to be temporarily postponed. But the worst weather stayed away, and according to the management, the festival could continue and conclude without major drama.
