Viveca Lärn receives the Kulla-Gullapriset from the Marta Sandwall-Bergström Literary Foundation. The prize amount is 130,000 kronor.

"Her everyday stories are characterized by a sense of detail and dialogue where children's world is logical and the adult world is absurd, comic, and a little mysterious," the jury writes in its motivation.

Viveca Lärn debuted in 1975 with "Stop the Press" and has since written over 40 children's books, but also adult novels.

The Kulla-Gulla Prize was established in 1999 by Martha Sandwall-Bergström and is awarded every other year to a Swedish-resident author (mainly children's and young adult authors) who writes prose.
