USA: Retail trade stronger than expected

Sales within the American retail trade were unchanged in June compared to the previous month. It was better than expected.

Analysts had expected a decline of 0.3 percent, according to Bloomberg's compilation.

In May, the growth rate was 0.3 percent according to revised figures.

Excluding motor vehicles, it was a plus of 0.4 percent in June. Expectations were at a plus of 0.1.
