Around 100,000 people have fled from Lebanon to Syria since the escalation of the conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon began, according to an estimate from the UN's refugee agency UNHCR.
60 percent of the refugees are estimated to be Syrians and 40 percent Lebanese, according to the organization, which is present at four official border crossings between Lebanon and Syria.
"The number of people who have fled into Syria from Lebanon, fleeing Israeli air strikes – Lebanese and Syrian citizens – has reached 100,000", writes UNHCR chief Filippo Grandi on X.
