A surprising birth took place on a flight between Helsinki and Paris on Friday morning, reports Finnish media.
The woman who suddenly got contractions is said not to have known that she was pregnant. She was delivered by a cabin crew member and a helpful passenger who was a firefighter, reports Helsingin Sanomat (HS).
The plane did not need to make an emergency landing. The birth took place about an hour before landing at Charles-de-Gaulle Airport in Paris, confirms the airline Finnair.
One of the passengers on the almost fully booked plane tells HS that the birth seemed to have gone well under the circumstances. The new mother and the newborn baby were taken care of by an ambulance upon arrival.
